Your tutors for the day

Matt Stead runs the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain and is a very prominent figure in the ukulele scene, not just in the UK but worldwide. Matt has taught 1000's of people online and in person, and is passionate about vintage ukes. 

Matt Parkin, from The Awesome Ukulele Academy, is a teacher and performer that has taught 1000´s of people. He spent most of his 20's touring and recording with bands, such as The Jesus and Marychain and The Mission.

Both Matt's have a very similar approach to teaching music - everyone is in their own lane and will develop their own style in their own time. The emphasis is always on fun and enjoying your unique journey. No one get's left behind - we all have something to offer.

  • 5:00pm - 6:00pm Concert and Open Mic (with PlayAlong)

FAQ's:

What level do I need to be? As long as you can play a few chords, you'll be able to join in

Do I have to perform? We will all play as a group. If you want to do an open mic performance in a safe space, you can

What should I bring? Your ukulele, sense of humour, and enthusiasm

Can I come on my own? Yes - we are really friendly and inclusive

What if I'm nervous? Being nervous is normal - we all (including me) get nervous sometimes

Is lunch included? A pizza buffet lunch is included and there is a bar for you to buy drinks

Are beginners welcome? Everybody is welcome

Is there anything happening after the event? If your stopping over, we will be having a (very) informal meal somewhere local. We'll be in touch about this too.
